The Philadelphia Eagles became one of the most controversial NFL teams this season following the decision of General Manager Chip Kelly to let go of Tim Tebow over the weekend. While this move from the Philadelphia Eagles does not really come as a surprise, especially over the fact that Tim Tebow has been competing against Matt Barkley since the start of the NFL offseason, the events leading up to the decision earned the ire of the fans.

When the Philadelphia Eagles announced that Matt Barkley would be traded off to the Arizona Cardinals on Friday, the legion of football followers cheering for Tim Tebow highly expected that the third quarterback position is in the bag - only to have their hopes dashed when their idol was released the next day. Needless to say, the entry of Stephen Morris in the Philadelphia Eagles roster completely blindsided the fans of Tim Tebow.

According to Chip Kelly, the Philadelphia Eagles saw the potential of Tim Tebow. In fact, the NFL team's general manager pointed out that the aspiring quarterback exhibited tremendous improvement from the time he started playing with the Philadelphia and throughout the NFL Preseason. However, Tim Tebow was deemed to just not be "good enough" to serve as backup quarterback for NFL stars Sam Bradford, who was the first overall in the 2010 NFL Draft of the St. Louis Rams, and Mark Sanchez, who is the first round pick of the New York Jets and is the fifth overall pick during the 2009 NFL Draft.

"I think Tim's really progressed," shared Chip Kelly following the announcement of the Philadelphia Eagles of their decision to let go of the aspiring quarterback, according to ESPN. The general manager added, "We just didn't feel like he was good enough to be the '3' right now."

Stephen Morris spent the training season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Upon his release from his earlier NFL team, the quarterback was immediately snapped by the Philadelphia Eagles - a move now known to be the decision that crushed the NFL dreams of Tim Tebow. A 6-foot-2, 220-pound player, Stephen Morris enters the Philadelphia Eagles roster with the pressure of showing off better skills than the two men who vied for his current post, Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley.

While many criticized the move of Chip Kelly to let go of Tim Tebow and practically tear down the entire Philadelphia Eagles roster in an effort to replace the players with athletes he believe to be more capable of executing the style he has in mind, sports analysts applaud the general manager and head coach's ruthless determination to do so.

Pointing out that Chip Kelly did not shy away from opportunities to change and improve the Philadelphia Eagles roster, Reuban Frank of Comcast Sportsnet Philly shared that the general manager did not flinch in his move to "cut ties" with five Pro Bowlers, namely, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Trent Cole, Nick Foles and Evan Mathis. Frank further noted that the departure of Chris Polk, Todd Herremans and Brandon Boykins spoke volumes of Chip Kelly's desire to improve the Philadelphia Eagles' chances in bringing home the Super Bowl trophy this season.

"More talent," described Frank, referring to the new players Chip Kelly added to the Philadelphia Eagles locker room such as DeMarco Murray and Sam Bradford. He added, "More players who fit Kelly's culture in the locker room. A superior coaching staff. More depth. Way more depth. A team better equipped for a deep postseason run than Kelly's first two teams."
