After starting the 2016 NFL season strong, the Philadelphia Eagles are now struggling to keep afloat. If their losing streak keeps up, then the team could resort to replacing Carson Wentz with Chase Daniel as the team's starting quarterback.

As seen during the Eagles' latest match against the New York Giants, Wentz struggled with his plays, with two of them resulting in interceptions. It shows that at midseason, it seems the rookie quarterback is still not yet ready to take on a full starting position.

This is very unfortunate for the Eagles especially since Wentz had a very promising start this season. For three games straight, he was able to maintain consistency in his plays and was able to successfully lead the team to victories.

However, by Week 5, Wentz' performance started to dip and now the Eagles are looking at four wins and four losses, which includes a two-game losing streak.

Despite the fact that Wentz is obviously having a hard time maintaining his performance during the recent games, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is still confident that the athlete will still be able to bounce back from his current slump.

He even said that the recent games where the Eagles lost were all part of Wentz's development process as he becomes a better player.

"This is all part of the growth process that he's going through and the two [interceptions] were kind of that, just the fact that he gets a little tunnel vision sometimes," Pederson said.

Still though, Pederson admitted that Wentz was at fault regarding the two interceptions.

"I felt like he didn't have to move," he said. "He could have stayed right there in the pocket and delivered the football."

If Wentz fails to revive his plays and improve his performance in the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons, then Pederson will most likely turn to Daniel as the new starting quarterback. Daniel, who's already a seasoned quarterback, will surely be able to turn things around for the Eagles and get them on track. As backup quarterback, Wentz can then use his position to learn from Daniel.
