NFL Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Trading with New York Jets for Brandon Marshall

It seems the rumors about the Philadelphia Eagles wanting to trade for a veteran wide receiver are coming true since the team is reportedly interested in acquiring Brandon Marshall from the New York Jets. Last week, it was rumored that the Eagles are shopping around Nelson Agholor, Dorial Green-Beckham and Josh Huff.

Marshall has been a professional football player for the NFL since 2006 when he first joined the Denver Broncos. He ended up with the Jets in 2015 after he was trace by his former team the Chicago Bears for a seventh-round draft pick.

Since last year, Marshall has been an active member of the New York franchise. During his first year with the team, he was able to record his career-high average of 1,502 receiving yards.

However, for this year, Marshall's stats and overall performance have started to dip. These then led to the rumors that the Jets may be considering trading him. As noted by Metro Philly, one of the franchises that's reportedly interesting in signing him are the Eagles.

Last week, the Philadelphia team became the subject of trade speculations after it was reported that the team was willing to offer Huff, Agholor and Green-Beckham for a proper deal. Apparently, the team is not happy with how these three are performing recently. In addition, the Eagles are reportedly looking for a veteran wide receiver who can also serve as a mentor to the team's other players.

Although it is not yet confirmed if the Eagles will really pursue a trade with the Jets for Marshall, news about this deal will probably come out soon since the trade deadline this week is already fast approaching.

As for Marshall, he's very much aware that he has been the focus of trade rumors for some time now. If it's up to him, he noted that he would still like to play for New York.

"I love it here," he said. "I love ownership, I love - I'm about to say the opposite of what [Ryan Fitzpatrick] said the other day - I love management, I love the coaches and I love my teammates."

"And to be honest with you, I like you guys [media], which is tough," he added. "We're not out of it, so we're gonna continue to fight, rally the troops and continue to keep this team on the right track."
