NFL Rumors: Phildelphia Eagles' DeMarco Murray Confronts Chip Kelly, Demands New Role

The running back drama of the Philadelphia Eagles does not appear to be nearing its end anytime soon. DeMarco Murray, the prized acquisition of the Chip Kelly squad from the Dallas Cowboys roster, is continuously causing issues for the NFL team. According to reports, the running back has been known in the Philadelphia Eagles roster as one who alienates his teammates. Moreover, the dismay of Murray over his lack of a substantial role in the Mark Sanchez team seems to be becoming more evident by the day.

"What people don't know is that on the sideline of last week's game against New England (Patriots), (the Philadelphia Eagles) viewed DeMarco Murray as pouting and detaching himself from the rest of the team," according to FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer. He added, "The Eagles view him and his style as just not as good a fit as the other running backs that they have, and that's why his playing time will continue to decrease."

Sources claim that the Murray managed to slide to the bottom of the Philadelphia Eagles depth chart. At the moment, the former Dallas Cowboys running back is behind Ryan Matthews, Kenyon Barner and Darren Sproles. However, the official online depth chart shows Murray as still the first running back in the NFL team.

"The Eagles are weighing all options when it comes to their running back rotation today, even benching DeMarco Murray," disclosed NFL Network's Media Insider, Ian Rapoport, in GameDay First. Rapoport also stressed this possibility via social media before the game of the Philadelphia Eagles against the Buffalo Bills. The Rex Ryan squad lost with a final score of 20-23.

Murray voiced out his displeasure over Kelly's decision to bench him during the NFL match against Tom Brady's team. While some fans questioned the move, the Philadelphia Eagles head coach shared that the tactic they used heavily relied on the smaller running backs. Murray reportedly confronted Kelly in the plane ride home after the said match. However, sources claim that the head coach provided no assurance on an increased role for the disgruntled running back.

"As for his talk with Jeffrey Lurie, my understanding is he didn't approach Chip Kelly for the same talk because he didn't think Chip was as approachable which, of course, represents a bigger problem," revealed Rapoport, according to NFL.com. The insider added, "Murray has not made a ton of friends in the Eagles' locker room, this rubs some people the wrong way, especially this week. So it's worth considering what role he will have going forward."
