After quarterback Russell Wilson suffered an injury during the Seahawks' game against the Miami Dolphins last Sunday, rumors started to fly that the Seattle organization might bring in free agent Tarvaris Jackson.

During Sunday's game, the Seahawks were able to clinch a victory over the Dolphins by ending the match with a score of 12-10. The two-point lead was credited to Wilson, who was able to throw a game-winning touchdown to secure a come-from-behind victory for Seattle.

However, the team's victory came with a cost as Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh accidentally stepped on Wilson's foot, causing the quarterback to suffer a sprained ankle.

Following last weekend's game, there were talks that Wilson's injury was a bit serious and could endanger his chances of appearing in Week 2 with the Seahawks.

This then led to rumors that the Seattle organization might consider re-signing Jackson, Wilson's former backup QB who stepped up for him during the fourth quarter of 2013's Super Bowl XLVIII.

Although Wilson's condition is definitely not a season-ender, having Jackson in the lineup as the No. 2 QB could serve as an insurance policy for Seattle just in case another injury hits the main passer. Adding another quarterback in the roster will also be good for the team because it will add depth to the QB bench.
In addition, Jackson is certainly a better quarterback that Trevone Boykin, Wilson's current backup.

However, re-signing Jackson will not be that easy for the Seahawks due to his current condition. In June this year, he was arrested for allegedly threatening his wife with a gun. Although the case was not prosecuted by the court, the NFL still saw it as a violation of its domestic violence policy.

Because of this, it is not yet clear if Jackson is eligible to play for any team if ever he gets signed. There are also no confirmations yet if he has been cleared of his violations or if he is still suspended.

Despite the rumors about Jackson and Wilson's condition, the Seahawks recently reiterated that the starting quarterback will be able to play next Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. As noted by head coach Pete Carroll, Wilson's mobility has been improving over the past couple of days.
