NFL Rumors: San Francisco 49ers’ Blaine Gabbert Demanding Trade After Getting Replaced By Colin Kaepernick

Despite losing to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Colin Kaepernick will return to the field on Week 7 as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, it seems former No. 1 QB Blaine Gabbert is not happy with Kaepernick's return.

At Week 6, the 49ers surprised the NFL community by playing Kaepernick at the starting spot, despite previous statements from head coach Chip Kelly stating that the athlete was not yet physically ready to take on the big role.

Although fans of the San Francisco franchise were expecting a major change in the team's performance last Sunday, Kaepernick's much-hyped comeback was not enough to turn around the 49ers' losing record.

Still though, Kelly and the rest of the organization are sticking with their decision to run Kaepernick as they head into Week 7 against the Buccaneers. Hopefully, Kaepernick will be able to return to his previous performance and lead the team to victory this Sunday.

"Colin will be our quarterback against Tampa Bay," Kelly said. "I think there's some big things that he did on Sunday that he can build upon. For his first extended playing time since last year, I though there were some real positives there that I think we can try to build with him and get him going."

"It gives us the best chance against Tampa Bay this week," he added.

Although things are already starting to look good for Kaepernick, Gabbert doesn't seem too happy with the recent developments. That's because after he started the season as the team's main passer, he now has been demoted to Kaepernick's backup.

During a press conference, Gabbert admitted that he doesn't appreciate getting replaced.

"It's a tough deal, but a change is made like that, it's what the coaches felt best for this team," he said. "It sucks. I don't like it. I don't like not playing. I'll be very forward about that."

The sudden change in the lineup could push Gabbert to demand the team to trade him. After all, given his experience, he can probably find another team where he can play starting quarterback for.

If that doesn't happen, he can look forward to next offseason when the two-year contract he signed in 2015 expires. As a free agent, he will be available to sign with a team that will offer him with a starting post.
