The Seattle Seahawks have yet to make a remarkable move this NFL offseason. Experts currently point at the need to have a reliable backup for Russell Wilson. While the free agent market for a good quarterback is not that promising, with players like Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel dominating headlines, an NFL trade might be necessary to land a good sub. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the Kam Chancellor team is now targeting a Josh McCown trade.

The Cleveland Browns veteran recently lost the starting job to Robert Griffin III - a remarkable achievement for the former Washington Redskins star. Although Josh McCown had been nothing but supportive of RG3, the 37-year-old is said to be looking for an NFL team that could give him a Super Bowl ring before he hangs the cleats for good. With the clock ticking, the Cleveland Browns veteran is expected to seriously mull over a Seattle Seahawks deal.

"Obviously as a competitor you want to play and you want to be the guy, but I understood he direction we were going and so, I'm excited for our team,'' said Josh McCown of the Cleveland Browns' decision to choose RG3 over him. He added, "I've been on both ends of it and when the quarterback competitions drag out through training camp, I don't know if you're any better off because then you have two guys that have kind of had half reps. It's great that we know who it is moving forward, we're behind that guy and our team can rally around that guy.''

Coming in as a backup for Russell Wilson, the exposure of Josh McCown in the gridiron might be lesser as opposed to his time working second stringer in the Cleveland Browns. However, the Seattle Seahawks are legitimate title contenders. Hence, a Super Bowl championship with the Kam Chancellor squad could serve as an attractive prospect for Josh McCown.

Moreover, Russell Wilson is expected to hit his peak this NFL season. According Football Outsiders, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback is the most accurate player in the said post. Landing the top rank in the list, Russell Wilson beat Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Teddy Bridgewater of the Minnesota Vikings and Carson Palmer of the Arizona Cardinals.

At the number four spot is Kirk Cousins, the quarterback who replaced RG3 in the Washington Redskins, followed by Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals, Drew Bees of the New Orleans Saints and Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons. Rounding up the top ten are Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and Tyrod Taylor of the Buffalo Bills.

With this list in mind, some fans of Josh McCown feel that he would be better off playing behind Russell Wilson. However, no official comment has been given by the parties involved. At this point, the Cleveland Browns remain secure of two of their quarterbacks - Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown.
