Currently, the Dallas Cowboys are the top team to beat because of their almost flawless record thanks to the leadership of quarterback Dak Prescott. However, all this could change since according to Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones, Tony Romo might get activated this week.

Romo has never had the chance to play at the regular season after suffering a back injury during the Dallas squad's third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. Since then, rookie backup QB Prescott has been leading the Cowboys on the field.

At first, fans were skeptical about Prescott's lack of experience but after going through several weeks, the young athlete has proven that he has what it takes to be the main passer for the team.

But even though Prescott has been successfully leading the team, the question regarding Romo's return still remains.

For about two weeks now, Romo has been practicing with the team on a limited basis. Still though, this shows that the quarterback is inching his way to his return. Recently, Jones, who is also the owner of the Dallas franchise, hinted that Romo might be able to return this week for the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Until last week I wouldn't speculate," he said. "I don't know. But he will do more. And he's really doing things that are strong relative to last year's strength. He's ahead of last year."

Jones then went on to say that he regrets not seeing Romo on the field because he knows just how talented the athlete is. But, this doesn't mean that he's not happy with Prescott's performance. He even noted that the young quarterback is the team's future, and quite possible to replacement of Romo.

"We've got some real talent at our quarterback position," Jones said. "I think Tony Romo is one of the best quarterbacks that have played this game. My real regret would be to have had him here and now won a Super Bowl with him."

"He's that talented," he added. "And now look at Dak and how he's playing, his future, so I just don't have a problem with this situation."
