NFL Trade Rumors: Denver Broncos Ready to Match Offers for Brandon Marshall; Brock Osweiler Up for Free Agency

Since linebacker Brandon Marshall is free to entertain offers from other teams, the Denver Broncos has stated that it is ready to match any amount presented to him. This is part of the second-round tender extension the team made for Marshall.

One of the teams looking to snatch Marshall is the Miami Dolphins, which only ranked 25th in sacks during the last NFL season. Marshall, on the other hand was able to land 101 tackles for the Broncos last year, according to Bleacher Report.

The site noted that last season, Marshall earned $585,000. And, with the second-round tender set at about $2 million, that means the Broncos is expect to match about $2.5 million if the athlete decides to sign with the Dolphins.

Although trading giving up Marshall and covering the tender might not be considered as a wise move for the Broncos, the team might also be looking at what it can benefit from in the deal. Usually, when teams agree on second-round tenders, they're confident that they'll be able to re-sign the player again in the future.

As for other trade news, another player that could end up leaving the Broncos is quarterback Brock Osweiler, who served as the now-retired Peyton Manning's replacement during his absence last season.

During his time as a starting quarterback, Osweiler played a significant role in leading the Broncos to the playoffs. He was also able to secure 170 completions for 1,967 yards in last season alone.

But, with a free agency market coming up, Osweiler is expected to end up as an unrestricted player. However, as pointed out by Ecumenical News, this does not automatically mean that the Broncos is ready to give him up.

With Manning's retirement and Osweiler's performance, the Broncos could draft a brand new contract for the young unrestricted free agent. In other words, there's a chance that he might be Broncos' starting quarterback next season.

Details about a possibly new deal between Osweiler and the Broncos are still unclear but as noted by Fox 31 Denver, the team might offer a competitive deal to the 25-year-old athlete.
