Is 'No Man's Sky' Delayed?  Kotaku

To call No Man's Sky an ambitious game would be underselling it completely.  If you haven't heard about No Man's Sky, the video game made for the PS4 and PC is a procedural sandbox universe game filled with 18 quintillion planets, each with their own ecosystem.  There is no way a player could ever explore a universe this vast in their own lifetime, and sadly, they might have to wait longer.  This is what is known about No Man's Sky Release Date and rumors of a possible delay.

Much of these rumors about the delay of No Man's Sky come from Kotaku, a renowned video game site if you are unfamiliar with gaming.  Again, these are rumors, but Kotaku with a source at Gamestop has been told to cover up the June 21st release date on marketing posters and other materials with "coming soon" stickers.

If you know anything about No Man's Sky, then you know that Sony has been treating this independent game from Hello Games like it was one of their own, making sure they got it and not Xbox.  So far, Hello Games and Sony have not given any official word about a delay for the long-anticipated space sandbox game, according to Forbes

The Press Release for the game on Hello Games website for No Man's Sky show a release date of June 2016, so perhaps it could just have a week's delay and prepare for a still-June launch of June 28th.  That would be one source that wouldn't need to be changed with a "coming soon" label.  Perhaps Hello Games just needs a week to iron out what could be a very complicated game.

So if there is a delay, a lot of sources have been citing a few months, like July and August.  It really isn't the end of the world if it doesn't come out until then, as summer just isn't a good time to release video games, not to mention the many games that have come out in May.

Also, there will be a lot to talk about with video games after E3 2016.  The annual video game convention is slated to take place in the usual Los Angeles Convention Center on June 14-16, so perhaps a little wait could be a good thing as gamers still reeling from that.  If No Man's Sky is the game that it promises to be, its impact in the gaming world could be as great as or even greater than that of Minecraft.

The issue with the delay is that it had better be the last.  For an independent game, it has received some of the biggest coverage of all time, including a blurb in The New Yorker along with a report on The Colbert Report.   As said before, No Man's Sky is huge in its scale, and is bound to have problems of some type.  Beware when all gamers complain as one about it, as this has been known to kill games with great potential.
