Nokia 3310 (2017) retails for $60
While the asking price is not official, it is still pretty affordable at $60 a pop. OnlyMobiles.com

Just about everyone who has ever made the transition from the feature phone era to the smartphones of today would have heard of the Nokia 3310. Yes, the younger generation who were born only after the iPhone has been released would not have known about the wonders of playing Snake using just two keys, or the analog ring tones that such feature phones were famous for. The Nokia 3310 was truly an icon of its time, and we were glad to see how HMD Global shouldered the task of revamping this device with an announcement earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.

However, there was no idea at all on how much the device will cost, but we were assured that it would be made highly affordable to the masses. This is to be expected for one simple reason -- the new Nokia 3310 should carry on in the spirit of its predecessor, which was a very cheap yet functional device back then. We are glad to bring you word that the all new Nokia 3310 has been seen to be listed on Indian retailer OnlyMobiles.com at Rs 3,899, which is the equivalent of $60 thereabouts after conversion.

HMD Global is the company that now carries the Nokia brand name of handsets, and it should be taken into consideration that the Rs 3,899 price tag is not the official price point just yet, since HMD Global has remained mum on its price announcements, at least in India. What kind of colors can we expect the Nokia 3310 to arrive in? Shades that will certainly brighten up anyone’s day, that is for sure -- including the likes of Warm Red, Dark Blue, Yellow and Grey. I still remember the original Nokia 3310 and how it came with a bevy of third party accessory cases, letting you have dual colors with one in the front and another at the back. That was certainly fun back then, and will a similar mold be included this time around, where there are two parts to the new Nokia 3310’s case?

Apart from the Nokia 3310, HMD Global has also shared that the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 handsets, too, will see a launch in India some time in the second quarter of the year -- which we are in at the moment, so there should be slightly more than two more months left to go before it hits India.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) will carry the general form factor albeit with a refreshed look, where the rounded edges are retained. There is also a new curved screen window that will pave the way for better “readability in sunlight”, accompanied by new push buttons as well as a brand new user interface (UI) that do carry on with its predecessor’s DNA. Other goodies that will accompany the Nokia 3310 include a 2MP shooter at the back, a 2.4” QVGA display, 2G support, a microSD memory card slot to augment the 16MB of internal storage, the Snake game, and a 1,200mAh battery.
