Although it is already expected that Manny Pacquiao will finally retire after his upcoming third match against Timothy Bradley, a second fight between the Filipino boxer and Floyd Mayweather Jr. could still happen in the future. This is according to trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.
According to the former professional boxer, his son could come out of retirement for another fight. He can also choose if he wants to go up against Pacquiao for a second time or he could go toe-to-toe with a new opponent in the form of Danny Garcia.
"I can't really say what he's going to do because I'm not him," Mayweather Sr. told On the Ropes Boxing Radio according to Bleacher Report. "The thing of it is, they keep talking about Pacquiao wanting to fight, and Danny Garcia might want to fight Floyd."
"Pacquiao wants to do it again, for what does he want to do it? No one knows." He added. "The only good there is Floyd's gonna whoop his a** where he can get enough money to go about his business."
The two boxers first met inside the ring in May of last year. Since both are pound-for-pound champions, boxing fans expected the bout to be the fight of the decade. Instead, the world was treated to a very dull match with Mayweather Jr. distancing himself from Pacquiao. The fight ended with a unanimous decision favoring the American athlete.
Since then, fans have clamored for a rematch between the two. Even Pacquiao's camp said that the Pacman is willing to go up against Money inside the ring for a second time since the boxer attributed the loss to an injury in his shoulder.
"Manny will always want to fight him," coach Freddie Roach recently told Boxing News Online. "If we didn't have that injury in the first fight we would've done a lot better."
"Manny's watched it over and over and still feels he won the fight and a lot of other people feel the same way," he added. "It wasn't the most exciting fight last time around but if he's healthy and has two hands, it would be much more exciting."
