Percy Harvin Comes Out of Retirement to Sign with Buffalo Bills

Sources have confirmed that a couple of months after his retirement, wide receiver Percy Harvin has returned to the NFL to sign with the Buffalo Bills. According to Harvin, he decided to play professional football again after his physical condition improved.

Harvin has been with the NFL since 2009 when he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings as the 22nd overall draft pick. He found his way to the Buffalo Bills when he signed a 6-year contract with the team worth $6 million. However, his debut season in Buffalo was cut short after he was placed on injured reserve in November.

After undergoing surgery in January, Harvin returned to play for the Bills but after only playing in five games last season, he decided it was time for him to retire in April.

However, after a couple of months into his retirement, Harvin decided to return. Although he admitted that he was thinking about making a comeback during his first few weeks as a retiree, he ultimately changed his mind when he started feeling that his body was doing much better than before.

This is what prompted him to re-sign with the Bills earlier this week. This was then confirmed by his agent Greg Barnett.

"I actually thought I was done," he said. "I was at peace. Pretty much, the first five weeks of the NFL, I really wasn't focused on football. I didn't have the urge to go play. I was just kind of relaxing and just letting my mind kind of just chill."

"After five weeks went by, the next month came and the body started feeling kind of good, so the mind started wandering a little bit," he added. "At that point, I told my agent, ‘Don't make no calls, just see what happens.' I kept training, I kept doing my thing and the Bills called."

According to reports, the Bills agreed to pay Harvin $1 million for the remainder of the season. However, it is still not yet clear if he will get a starting spot or if he will play in the Bills' Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
