Thursday Night Football will see the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles face off. Scheduled at 12:30 pm ET on Thanksgiving Day (November 26), the two NFL teams will battle it out a the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Given the record and performance of both football squads this season, sports analysts predict that the Philadelphia Eagles will beat the host team in this round.

While the Philadelphia Eagles boast of a notable set of players, one of the most pressing matters that need attention is the quarterback post. With Sam Bradford still listed a limited, fans and followers of the NFL team are wondering whether Mark Sanchez will be tasked as the starting quarterback in the Thanksgiving match against the Detroit Lions. Although this situation might just spell the possible rise of Sanchez in the said role, the backup quarterback disclosed that no further instruction regarding the game has been given to him yet.

"The future for Bradford in Philadelphia is murky," noted Ian Rapoport, an NFL Media Insider. He added,"First of all, in the short term, Mark Sanchezis expected to start again on Thursday, so he's going to get at least a two-game audition potentially for the starting job."

To bolster his point, Rapoport implied that Bradford's skills could be matched by Sanchez. He pointed out, "It's not like the Eagles can say 'we've invested a ton of guaranteed money in Bradford, he's for sure our starter. If Sanchez plays well enough to, say, win two games, it seems as if the team would continue to use him as the starter going forward. And then this offseason, with seven college quarterbacks rated in the first three rounds, the Eagleswill once again be exploring the quarterback market."

The match against the Detroit Lions will not be the first time Sanchez takes over as starting quarterback. In the NFL face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which resulted in a 45-17 loss for the Philadelphia Eagles, Sanchez managed to complete 26 of his 41 passes for 261 yards. The substitute quarterback also pitched in two touchdowns. However, Sanchez incurred three interceptions. Meanwhile, former Dallas Cowboys star DeMarco Murray had 13 attempts for 64 yards. At the moment, the Philadelphia Eagles will enter the NFL match against the Detroit Lions with a 4-6 record this season.

As for the Detroit Lions, the NFL team will be playing against the Philadelphia Eagles fresh off a win against the Oakland Raiders. In the said recently concluded match, Matthew Stafford contributed a touchdown as well as pitched in 31 yards. He also completed 22 of the 35 passes he made for 282 yards. Calvin Johnson had five catches and 88 yards; while Golden Tate recorded 73 yards in eight catches.
