Whenever we arrive close to the end of each month, owners of the PS4 and PS Vita will definitely look forward to what lineup of free games that PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) has in store. The official announcement for the month of October 2016 is set to be revealed by Sony this Wednesday, but it looks like we have a more concrete idea of what to expect. After all, PS Plus subscribers have seen many announcements that were made on the last Tuesday of each month, although the trend has bucked in recent times by switching to Wednesday instead.
To make matters more secretive and perhaps, exciting for the masses, the PlayStation Plus community managers tend to ensure everything remains under wraps and vague as long as possible, with the standard reply of the announcement being made in the last week of every month. Certainly that is not too much “space” from which one can make an educated guess!
In order to be sure, fans of the PlayStation Plus game lineup will simply have to play the patience card and let for October to roll by before the new free games lineup is revealed. If October 4th is the date, then fans have slightly more than a week before they are able to pick up the PlayStation Plus September titles that are being offered, with two games being on the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.
The full range of PlayStation Plus titles this month for the PS4 would be Lords of the Fallen and Journey (also on the PS43), with the PS3 gaining Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sand, Datura and Badland as well. PS Vita owners will be able to enjoy Amnesia: Memories.
Certain fans are looking forward to XCOM: Enemy Unknown being the next title that could be part of next month’s release. The reason behind this is XCOM 2’s launch that is set to happen real soon. Apart from that, PlayStation Plus subscribers in North America can enjoy some quality titles this month if the mantra “you get what you pay for” holds true, with the recent bout of membership price increase.
Those living in Europe or in the UK will not have to worry about any price changes. As for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, this is one title that many people are looking forward to, taking into account how it has been tipped to be one of the best titles from the Assassin’s Creed series to date.
Nights of the Azure is another title that has been made free in Japan since August. The first year anniversary falls on October, hence it is not too far off the mark to figure out that it could be a free title in October's PlayStation Plus.
Other speculated titles include "Alien Isolation," "The Evil Within," "Oddworld Munch's Oddysee HD," "Costume Quest 2," "The Crew," and "Killzone: Shadow Fall." Which do you think will make the cut?
