Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have Patch 1.4 waiting to be uploaded

Pokemon has been one of those franchises that always has a following, whether it's the animated series or the video-game spin offs that Nintendo loves to market.  Yet there is an absence of new Pokemon video game offerings recently.  The most recent offerings of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were recently given a New Patch Update, but this was quite a few months ago.  Then there is always the question of when is that seemingly inevitable Pokemon Z release date?

Pokemon Z isn't really the official title of the expected new release of the game, but it is a long awaited sequel to Pokemon X and Y, and it is just easier to call it that.  Considering that E3 2015 (the Electronic Entertainment Expo, which takes place annually every summer in LA) was two weeks ago, it seems a missed opportunity for Nintendo to announce a release date of Pokemon Z at the biggest events in video games.

Even before that, iDigitalTimes predicted that there would be no Pokemon Z announcement.  This wasn't really a big surprise, as Nintendo does not have a good track record of announcing anything Pokemon related at E3.  In fact, there has never been an E3 where a new Pokemon game was announced.

This is starting to lead to the rise of rumors that there will never be a Pokemon Z.  There is an IGN forum simply called Pokemon Z isn't coming out, which is about 2 years old.

One update that is happening now is a Patch for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.  In fact, this has already happened as the patch was available on April 23, 2015.  According to Youth Health Mag, Patch 1.4 gives players several online features and aims to bring new challenges for the games.

With the patch, players can use the Wonder Trade option, connection to the Global Trade Station, redemption of Mystery Gifts, use of the Game Sync feature as well as using the Player Search System in order to connect to other fans.

One change that a lot of Pokemon fans are demanding is the mega evolution of Flygon, a Pokemon used by a key character in the game.  Unfortunately, word is that Flygon's mega evolution might not happen during this update since developers are still working on the Pokemon's mega evolved design.  The Venture Capital Post has confirmed that a mega Flygon will be making an appearance in the seventh generation of the franchise, but there has been no definite release date.

Hopefully, this seventh generation of Pokemon, or even Pokemon Z, will have a release date that will happen this year, but that would be quite a holiday surprise.  In the meantime, the Patch for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is available now.  One can't help wonder what the long-term plan is for Pokemon and Nintendo, as fans demand newer content at a rapid rate.
