As country singer Joey Feek's battle with cancer continues, her husband and musical partner Rory Feek shared an emotional update regarding his wife's condition and revealed how his family is trusting in God's sovereignty throughout the heartbreaking situation.

On Sunday, Rory shared some sweet new photos along the update, which detailed Joey's struggle since entering hospice care at the family's home earlier this month.

"God chooses the appointed time. Not us.  Not hospice," Rory shared in the post titled "Braver than me."

"Though now, she can no longer get out of bed - she is so sharp and clear and her pain, for the most part, is so under control by the medicine that talking to her - you would think she's her normal self. Thinner. Much thinner. And with a hip new hairdo. But she is beautiful. So so so beautiful."

As reported by the Gospel Herald, Joey, 40, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014, just months after giving birth to the couple's daughter Indiana, who was born with Down syndrome.

According to the update, Indiana has been spending every day with her mother, and one particularly touching photo shows the little girl sitting on her mother's bed.

"She wants to be remembered as a singer of songs. A devoted wife. A loving mother. Not a cancer patient," Rory wrote.

While he has regularly updated fans on his wife's condition, Rory said it has been difficult to know how much - or how little - to share. The singer revealed that he and his wife have struggled with the question: "How honest do we want to be?"

"It's like questioning God about the twists and turns he's brought into our life in the last few years... and asking Him 'how much is too much?' Rory wrote. "Sometimes I feel like shouting, 'we get it God...you're in control.  Life is fragile and all we have is today'.  But He just keeps bringing more story and more pain, and more beauty... all at the exact same time."

"So together, we made some decisions. This is our life. It's what He has given us to live. And share," he continued.

He also praised his wife's courage and cheerful spirit, explaining, "There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't look me and her family in the eye and say, 'I'm gonna beat this,' or, 'I'm getting better, I believe that.' And she asks me if I believe it, and I do. I choose to."

While his wife's time in hospice care has been a "rollercoaster," Rory said his family is enjoying life to the fullest extent possible.

"When God begins to take the light from the outside... the light inside just shines all that much brighter, he concluded. "It's amazing. She's amazing."

As reported by the Gospel Herald, the couple also plans to release a new album on Valentine's Day 2016, which will include a variety of hymns and gospel songs.

In an earlier blog post, Rory revealed that they recorded the songs in a studio in Nashville early this summer, just after recovering from her first big cancer-related surgery.

"Joey was weak and it was difficult for her, but she was determined. This record means so much to her. It is the songs that are the most important to her," Rory wrote. "It's going to be special."
