Just one month after Christian singer Joey Feek entered into the arms of Jesus, her widower, Rory Feek, shared what he misses most about his wife of fourteen years.

In a new post for his blog titled "Forrest and Jenny," Rory, 49, opened up about the bittersweet emotions he's experienced since Joey passed away in March at 40 years old after a lengthy battle with cervical cancer.

"I miss my wife... I miss my best friend," he wrote. "I miss her voice and her laugh and her eyes and her smile. It's still hard for me to imagine that she's not here, and she's not ever coming back. But I know that time will make it easier. Because that's what time does. It heals what is broken. There will still be scars, but I know there will come a day when I won't miss her this much, when I won't wonder where she is... and what she is doing right now in heaven."

Rory also updated fans on how the couple's 2 year-old-daughter, Indiana, has been coping with the death of her mother and returning to the family's home in Tennessee.

"Little Indiana is adjusting to being back home," he wrote. "Spring is here and with it the chance for Indy and I to spend lots of time outside in the grass and on the little wooden swing I hung from a tree for her.  Like her mama, she likes being outside.  She loves pointing out the horses to me or making sounds like she's telling me all about the flowers or the windmill that turns up on the hill.  She's glad to see Ranger again and has learned to drop some of her food on the floor from her high-chair so her puppy can come be next to her."

In an earlier blog post, Rory explained how in Joey's final months, the country singer insisted that Indiana spends the majority of her time with her father, so that Rory and Indiana could create a strong bond that would sustain the little girl as she adjusts to life without her mother.

"When we first got to Indiana in late October, Joey was Indy's whole world. She loved her mama so much and all she wanted was to be with her, beside her or in-sight of her," Rory said of his daughter, who has Down's Syndrome.

"But in early November, when Joey started to realize that there was a good chance that she might not beat her battle with cancer, she made a decision ... 'he must become greater and I must become less.'" "Who does that? Who has that kind of strength and character," Rory continued. "[Joey] let Indy fall more in love with me ... and less in love with her. She carried the pain on her own shoulders, to try to keep it off of mine. And even more so, off of Indy's."

He concluded the emotional blog post with the words: "...I miss you Joey.  You would be so proud of our little Indiana."

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the country music community paid their respects to Joey at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

"A few weeks ago, we lost a member of our country music family with the loss of Joey Feek," the presenters, Martina McBride and Darius Rucker, shared on Sunday. "Joey was more than a wonderful singer and an ACM-winning artist with her husband, Rory. She was a beloved mom, daughter, family member and friend. Of all of the different ways we could honor Joey, what would mean the most to Joey and her family is just for one more time, for all of her fans and all of us who love her to give her a big round of applause."

People Magazine notes that while Rory, wasn't on hand for the awards, his daughter from a former marriage Hopie and friend Julie were in attendance.

"God bless them and God bless you, Joey," McBride said.

Just one day before his wife was honored, Rory shared a touching photo of his wife's grave in Tennessee, which was marked by a simple white wooden cross.

"A bright sunrise will contradict the heavy fog that weighs you down," Rory captioned the photo on Instagram.
