The devastating loss of the Seattle Seahawks to the Carolina Panthers had fans mourning for the once Super Bowl 50 contenders. The Russell Wilson squad had been plagued with issues since the start of the football season including a holdout courtesy of safety Kam Chancellor. The injuries of wide receiver Marshawn Lynch also hurt the chances of the Seattle Seahawks.

However, one of the most widely talked about issue is the rift between Lynch and Wilson. The quarterback is said to be singled out as the reason for the team's failure to beat the Cam Newton squad. Moreover, the issues from the Seattle Seahawks' failed Super Bowl attempt against the New England Patriots got in the way of the team this year. While the rest of the NFL community await the Super Bowl 50, which will feature an intense battle between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, Wilson is out focusing on his charitable work.

The works of the Seattle Seahawks quarterback have been praised by the public, with members of the NFL community voicing out their admiration for the athlete. Former Seattle Seahawks star Eugene Robinson, who played for the NFL team right after college, shared his praises for Wilson. Robinson also played for the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. The former NFL star had a career in the football field that spanned 16 years.

"Wilson is a perfect example of someone having a strong father and mother," said Robinson via The Biblical Recorder, responding to the question on his impression of the quarterback. He added, "I had the privilege of doing [the Seahawks'] chapel service. I'm telling you right now that young man is rock-solid in the Lord. Not saying that any of us have it all together, but he wants to know God, wants to know what God wants him to do."

Robinson also commented on the possibility of Newton taking home the NFL MVP award despite going head to head against potential winners Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

"It wouldn't surprise me at all, regarding all the talk this year, about him [Newton] being the MVP," he shared. Robinson added, "Newton has really mobilized the Panthers offense; they have absolutely flourished under his leadership. He's played so wonderfully, with four fourth-quarter comebacks and all of the heroics. His top receiver went down at the beginning of the preseason; there were a lot of things happening. He's turned a good season into a great season."

In an earlier blog post, Wilson shared his desire to contribute to the society through his efforts. A regular visitor of the Seattle Children's Hospital, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback has been known to spend time with the patients and their families.

"I believe God has put me on this Earth to serve others," shared Wilson. The NFL star added, "That's why there's nothing more fulfilling than walking into a child's hospital room and finding out how they're doing - listening to their stories. All these kids are so brave and to be there for them and give them a boost is really important to me. What they don't know is how much they affect me: I get an even bigger boost from them!"

Wilson also spoke of the legacy he wants to leave once he officially hangs his jersey and walks off the football field. He shared, "In terms of my legacy off the field, I want to be a Christian man that helps lead and helps change lives and helps serve other people. It's not about me, you know."

He went on to share, "In terms of my faith, my faith is everything - God comes first, family and friends come second, and football comes third. I think when you keep it in that order, great things happen to you. You don't stress out about much."
