Samsung has certainly moved on from their Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, and while they have put in the extra effort to promote the earlier released flagship devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, this does not mean that there are no new handsets to look forward to on the horizon. The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is certainly one of them, having made its way through the grapevine for quite some time already. No concrete release date has been revealed officially by Samsung just yet, which means there is still a whole lot of speculation as to what the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) will offer when it finally hits the market.
In the most recent Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) leak, it seems that this particular smartphone is worthy to be classified as a rather hardy handset. After all, while getting more popular among the higher end models, it is not every single smartphone model out there that will be released alongside an IP68 certification for both water and dust resistance. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) will also cater for selfie lovers since it sports a whopping 16-megapixel shooter right in front, now how about that?
With such capabilities in the imaging department for selfies, not to mention a more hardy and robust nature that would normally mean a bulked up body, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) does not disappoint based on the dimensions that we know at press time. Arriving with the model number SM-A720F, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is whispered to be really, really thin, as it measures 157.69mm × 76.92mm × 7.8mm -- at least according to the folks over at Sammobile. Other rumored hardware specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) point to a rather strange 5.68-inch measurement for its 1080p Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7880 SoC that has been clocked at 1.8GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. 32GB of onboard storage is certainly a pittance in this day and age, which is why we are thankful to hear that it will come with a microSD card memory card slot to augment that department further.
At the back of the Galaxy A7 (2017) lies a 16MP shooter as well, this one featuring a f/1.9 aperture that will boast of auto-focus capability. As for the remainder of the possible specifications and innards, we might be looking at a decent 3,600mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and connectivity options such as USB Type-C port, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. There were results posted on benchmarking websites GFXBench and AnTuTu before that point to the Galaxy A7 (2017) having Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the mobile operating system of choice right out of the box. A slight disappointment there if it turns out to be true, especially when we know that Samsung are already beta testing the Android 7.0 Nougat update on their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge flagships at the moment.
Do take all that you have read here concerning the Galaxy A7 (2017) with a pinch of salt as nothing has been set in stone just yet until an official announcement is released.
