When it comes to rumors about smart devise, they abound. In the case of the follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with the Note 6, there are many rumors about its specs, release date, and other information that might not be plausible, like a 4K folding screen. This is what is known about the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, much of it might be more rumor than fact.
Yes, much of what is heard about the Galaxy Note 6 can be attributed to rumor rather than anything that Samsung is saying about their Note 5 follow-up as there isn't much information available about it. There are a lot of comparisons being made to the Samsung Galaxy S7 to be revealed at Mobile World Congress, and most will say that both models of the S7 and the Note 6 will have a 4K display, a first from Samsung.
This is according to a Galaxy S7 website, which might be the most reliable source of information at this point. While the 4K screen sounds grounded in some sort of reality, some people are saying that the Note 6 will have a flexible screen. Rumors of flexible screens on smartphones are quite old, and if that technology ever caught on, it would change the world.
As it stands now, flexible screens are usually buried in most smartphone manufacturer's Research and Development department, begging for a day when customer demand wants them. If it does have a flexible or even foldable display, it will probably be a 6-inch screen. However, wouldn't a foldable or flexible display give an option to have a bigger display? This all depends on how good the technology actually is, really.
In addition to the 4K foldable display (if that is even remotely true), there are some other specs such as a 3.1 GHz 16-Core processor, Exynos + Snapdragon Chipset, 6 or 8 GB RAM, micro SD support, and it really should have Android 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) right out of the box. That one is probably going to be a fact.
As far as the camera is concerned, the Note 5 has 16 Megapixels on the rear and 5 Megapixels on the front. There are rumors that the Note 6 could have something as high as 27 Megapixels primary with a secondary one of 8 Megapixels. This is quite an upgrade, if it is to be believed.
Considering that the Note 5 debuted last year in Q3, it is probable that the Galaxy Note 6 will show up in Q3 2016, shortly after the IFA 2016 tech event held annually in Berlin. It is possible that the Galaxy Note Edge 2 will also show up around this time, and there are rumors that the Note or other Galaxy smartphones could have a "double-edge" option. That is, that edge on the Galaxy Edge could work its way on both sides of the phone, giving the user many options for receiving notifications. Again, this is all to be taken with a grain of salt.
