When it comes to the smartwatch market, it isn't really known how well that it is actually doing.  Apple hasn't really given any formal reports about how good the Apple Watch is selling, but the fact that smartwatches keep getting made proves that there is an apparent market for them.  Samsung's Gear S2 is just one popular series of smartwatches, and it certainly creates a lot of classier looks with technological functions as the Gear S2 comes in Rose Gold and Platinum Models.

If you are not familiar with smartwatches, it was a market that is slowly building even before Apple got a hold of it.  What makes the Samsung Gear S2 different form its competitors are that it is designed for simple notifications and how to respond quickly to specific notifications.  For example, there is a video on the Samsung Gear S2 site that shows a man receiving a text message, and then he can twist the watch face for a quick response of "I'm on my way" among other responses.

The twisting 1.2 full circle sAMOLED display is just one of the features for the watch, as it is one of the smartwatches that allows the user to call, text, and email as well as receiving notifications, even when the compatible smartphone is not nearby.  This is provided that you have 3G or 4G network connectivity, and Bluetooth only models are also available.

The Gear S2 is compatible with most Android smartphones, and it is also good because it has some great-looking customizable watch faces, and these will come into play very well with the new models of the Samsung Gear S2.

Yes, something new has been added to the Gear S2 design as now it has both 18K Rose Gold and Platinum options.  The 18K Rose Gold option is made to "flatter every skin tone", not just with the 18K Rose Gold Finish, but a Genuine Leather Strap.  As for the Platinum model, it has a genuine leather strap.

In case you are wondering why Samsung would add these new Gear S2 models, then one has to think about the watch market as a whole.  Everyone knows that a Rolex watch and other top quality brand are more than just a timepiece, they are status symbols as well as unisex jewelry.  The issue with most smartwatches is that they emphasize the tech that the user wants, but often ignore the aesthetic feel.  These Samsung S2 Gear watches really attempt to strike the perfect balance between tech and style.

The regular Samsung Gear S2 will normally cost about $249.99, but when it goes to the special models of the Gear S2 classic, the price goes up.  For example, a Gear S2 Classic black costs $299.99, and the Rose Gold version and Platinum version is $449.99.  Yes, that is a big price increase, but as mentioned before, these Rose Gold and Platinum smartwatches are practically jewelry.
