In 2016, there will be many new versions of popular flagships of Android smartphones.  Their release dates could be at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2016, or they might appear in early March at Mobile World Congress (MWC).  Whatever the case, here are the new smartphone features, release dates, and rumors about the LG G5, HTC One M10, and the Samsung S7.

The LG G5

Phone Arena calls the LG G5 new flagship phone "a powerhouse with a metal body," as it is predicted the G5 will have a metal body, unlike its plastic predecessors.  The display is going to be somewhere in between 5.3 to 5.6 inches, with 1440 x 2560 resolution IPS LCD panel expected.  As for what is inside, it will probably be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 system chip.

The camera is going to be a dual rear camera setup with an 8 Megapixel front-facing camera with a 16 Megapixel rear-facing camera.  The release date should be sometime within Q1 2016 with a price of a little more than $600.

HTC One M10

When it comes to the new version of the HTC flagship phone, it might not be the M10, as reported in a separate article from Phone Arena.  There is a little less information on this particular phone, but the latest rumored codename is HTC Perfume.  HTC pulled an interesting hat-trick when it suddenly unveiled the HTC One A9 (not to be confused with the One M9) about a month ago, which was shipped out of the box with Android 6.0.

So far, there hasn't been any leaked renders or concepts of this phone, but it will probably have Sense 8 built atop Android 6.1.  it will also have the aforementioned Snapdragon 820 that the LG G5 could have.  As far as the release date is concerned, it will probably be April 2016, possibly later.

The Samsung S7

The Samsung S7 could have a screen will go to the edge, both of them.  Sure, the S6 Edge has that decorative curve, but some real developments are going to happen with it now.  There have been rumors that it could have a 5.7-inch screen, which would be very large.  Others have said it will come in two sizes, a 5.2-inch screen, and a 5.8-inch screen, with at least one of them having a 4K display.

As for the operating system, of course, it will come out of the box with Marshmallow, which still probably won't be on most Samsung's devices by the time it is released.  On board should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which is expected to be one of the biggest on phones in 2016.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, there were unconfirmed reports that Samsung wanted to fast-track the release date to January, rather than release and launch its new phone in March or April 2015.  If these rumors were true, then this would mean that the Galaxy S7 could show up at CES 2016.  The same rumors happened with the S6 at CES 2015, but it didn't show up until MWC 2016.  I think it is safe to assume that the Galaxy S7 won't show up until March of 2016, around the time of MWC held annually in Barcelona.
