Exciting news for thrill-seeking techies: Virtual roller coasters are headed to Six Flags.

Thrill seekers will definitely love the new feature of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. Nine branches of the amusement park will have VR-powered roller coasters this year, with the help of South Korean tech firm Samsung.

The passengers of the selected Six Flags' roller coasters will wear Samsung Gear VR headsets, so they can feel the "heart-pumping adrenaline" of twists and turns of the ride. Users will still feel the usual physical experience of the ride, but the headsets will add out of this world extra sensory experience.

Six Flags Season Pass holders will have the opportunity to try the VR roller coasters first. Game Spot reported the ride will be available first in Six Flags Arlington, Texas on March 10. Take note that the roller coaster ride will have an age limit of 13 years old and above.

Six of Six Flags' North American parks will offer "New Revolution Virtual Reality Coasters," which puts passengers in a fighter jet around a futuristic city invaded by aliens. On the other hand, three Six Flag parks will feature "Superman Virtual Reality Coasters," which puts passengers alongside with the man of steel as he fights Lex Luthor's army.

Interestingly, the revamped coasters is also a smart way to showcase the capabilities of the consumer-grade VR. The VR roller coaster ride is an experience that even early adopting users can't recreate at home.
