San Antonio Spurs will face Sacramento Kings on March 5 at AT&T Center. The upcoming Spurs game against Kings will show if Kawhi Leonard deserves this year's MVP award. Now, here's the latest round up of update about NBA Spurs schedule, game preview and online streaming. 

San Antonio Spurs is now at long home winning streak, thanks to Kawhi Leonard's defensive and offensive efforts. The team is 30-0 at home, and they will try to improve it against Sacramento Kings on Saturday.

On other hand, Kings (25-35) ended their 22-game losing against Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, with a final score of 104-101.  However, the team topped Mavericks who are trying to win a playoff ticket, whereas the Spurs (52-9) already secured their playoff appearance this week.

According to Yahoo Sports, San Antonio's winning record at this point is the best in franchise history but 3 1/2 games worse than Golden State Warriors in terms of NBA history. Moreover, Spurs' winning streak is tied for fourth-best all-time with Boston Celtics' run from 1985-86.

While Stephen Curry is league's best MVP contender, Leonard is in line for runner-up position. The versatile Spurs forward has 48.4 3-point percentage, which is higher than Curry (46. 6). Plus, Leonard is significantly better in defensive department.

When Leonard missed Spurs' three games with a calf injury, the team allowed 109.7 points per game on 48.4 percent shooting. By the time he returned, Spurs only surrendered 86.2 points on 40.8 percent shooting. In addition, Leonard made 12 steals in total.

Offensively, the current Defensive Player of the Year is also efficient. He produces at least 27 points in four consecutive games and shooting at 59.7 percent. Just like Curry, Leonard can also do game-winning shots.  His sank a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left to get 94-86 win against New Orleans.

In Kings previous games against Spurs, their premiere center DeMarcus Cousins had an average of 16 points --- 5.5 percent below his season average and third-lowest versus any opponent. Sports analysts say Spurs bigman LeMarcus Aldridge is one of the reasons why Cousins can't operate under the rim effectively.For Kings point guard Rajon Rondo, he is averaging more than 10 assists per game. His ability to locate his teammates will definitely help the Kings win against Spurs.
