Scandal has had quite a Season 4 with the disappearance of Olivia Pope occurring in the mid-season finale, plus a lot of interesting plot twists with the Season 4 finale. So what can possibly be next for the White House in Scandal Season 5? This is what is known for Scandal Season 5, Episode 1 Release Date, Spoilers, and the Cast.
The most obvious event that will happen in Scandal Season 5 is that Huck (Guillermo Diaz) will embrace his dark side and team up with Rowan (Joe Morton), according to Design and Trend. The big issue is whether or not Huck is willing going to turn his back on Olivia.
Of course, Scandal Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger as Quinn was pointing a weapon in Huck's direction, which begs the question of whether or not Huck will even survive for Season 5. However, it is pretty clear that Huck will live to see another day, and TV Guide reports that the original ending of the Season 4 finale was to have Quinn walking away from Huck, and obviously not shooting him.
Diaz has been quoted as saying: "Who knows what's gonna happen, but that's what makes Scandal so exciting. Shonda [Rhimes, the Scandal showrunner] is not afraid to get rid of characters that are popular on the show or regulars like myself. Now we have to wait and see. I have no idea if I'm dead or alive!" Diaz says that if Huck were to be eliminated, it would have occurred already.
Rowan is also going to have to deal with Mellie (Bellamy Young), his wife, in spite of cutting ties with her. She has won as a senator, but she does want to become the president. Since the actual president has cut ties with her, it will be interesting to see how Mellie bounces back.
Another development in Season 5 is the agenda of Elizabeth North, who, after now being appointed to the Chief of Staff, will be a regular cast member. It is clear that her plans could endanger the White House, not to mention the president himself.
Then there is the future of Cyrus Beene. This is a man who was pretty loyal to the president during the first few seasons of Scandal, but he was evicted from the White House. He still has his connections with several officials outside the White House, and some will say he deserves a second chance while others say he hasn't been punished enough. Season 5 could reveal his fate.
Of course, the big event and storyline of Scandal is the relationship of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn). The Season 4 finale showed Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) essentially giving his blessing to Olivia that she should be with the man that she loves. Does this mean that Fitz and Olivia will get together, and if so, will the show "jump the shark"?
It should be an exciting season for Scandal for Season 5, and according to When Will, the release date of Scandal Season 5, episode 1, will be on September 24, 2015.
