After months of speculation, NFL star Russell Wilson finally asked the question. Multi-awarded singer Ciara and the Seattle Seahawks QB are now engaged to be married.  The couple has been dating since early 2015, and they have been very public about their decision to abstain from premarital sex.

In a picture posted on Ciara's Twitter account, Wilson took a knee. The couple was vacationing in the Seychelles Islands. The resort is a popular holiday destination of celebrities, royals and other famous faces. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Victoria Beckham and David Beckham took a vacation there. Also, Prince William and Princess Kate honeymooned on the resort.

The couple played a game of "travel roulette," where they have 30 possible destinations in the world. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback gave his future wife a surprise when they landed at the exclusive resort in North Island.

Wilson, 27, is one of the toughest quarterback in the NFL. He helped the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl championship two years ago. In 2015, he signed a four-year contract extension worth a reported $87.6 million. He has won 36 regular season games with the Seahawks.

Ciara, 30, has produced six studio albums. Five of her albums were included in the top 10 U.S. R&B charts. The singer has been nominated for five Grammys.  She also received Billboard Music Award for Woman of the Year in 2008.  She has one son with rapper Future, her former fiancé.

In  April 2015,  E! News reported that the singer and the Seahawks QB sparked a romantic relationship. Two months after that, Ciara brought Wilson with her to the BET Awards, where they made their red carpet debut together as a couple.

Wilson revealed that he and Ciara chose to remain celibate until marriage. In an interview with Pastor Miles McPherson of The Rock Church, near San Diego, the Seahawks star said God spoke to him that Ciara is the woman he is waiting for.

Ciara said God is in control of her relationship with Wilson, so she is not worried about where their relationship is headed. She also added that they need prayers to strengthen their bond to each other.

"I feel very confident in the love that we have for each other, and only God knows where it's going to go," she previously told Page Six.
