Sleeping Dog may be coming out on Playstation 4 and Xbox One in the fall, according to a recent Amazon listing.

Beginning on Monday, Aug. 6, the online retailer began accepting pre-orders for the Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition. Initially, Amazon gave an Oct. 14 release date. The following day, it changed the day of launch to Dec. 31, 2014.

Players interested in the Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition can pre-order the game on Amazon for either the Xbox One or Playstation 4 console. The game is currently selling for $59.99, which includes free shipping. Those who pre-order now will also get a bonus offer that comes with a limited edition artbook.

The game's publisher Square Enix has yet to confirm what part of Sleeping Dogs has been upgraded in the remastered edition. The game in its current form is only available on older consoles, namely the Xbox 360 and PS3. Still, Sleeping Dogs is not the only game to have gotten the remastered-treatment.

In January this year, Square Enix rereleased the Tomb Raider reboot on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. This latest installment in the Lara Croft saga saw significant visual upgrades to its graphics as well as optimization for next-gen hardware.

Other companies have followed suit including Naughty Dog, which launched an updated version of its critically-acclaimed title The Last of Us. This coming fall, Rockstar Games will do the same when it releases the remastered-version of its bestselling game Grand Theft Auto V.

At this time, Sleeping Dog's developer United Front Games is working on the sequel to the open world game. It is unclear if players will reprise the role of undercover police officer Wei Shen, who infiltrated the Hong Kong triad in the first game. Last October, United Front confirmed the project and is tentatively naming the sequel, Triad Wars.
