Sony's new addition to its Xperia X lineup would be a camera-centric smartphone. Capture clearer images in Xperia XA Ultra's 21.5-megapixel main camera.  For its front camera, it packs an impressive 16-megapixel low-light sensor snapper.  Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Sony Xperia XA Ultra release date, specs, and price.

According to Sony's website, the Xperia XA Ultra is perfect for "nighttime selfie," thanks to its sensitive sensors that can capture images even in a low-light environment.  Interestingly, Samsung's Galaxy S7 can also shoot nighttime pictures, but Xperia XA Ultra has better and powerful camera technology.

As we said earlier, the forthcoming flagship device has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, which is partnered with optical image stabilization for blur-free shots. Also, it has "gesture control," which gives users more control to the camera.  Just a wave of user's hand, the camera's shutter timer starts.

The Xperia XA Ultra sports a 6-inch borderless screen that looks fantastic. Also, it has edge-to-edge curved screen and 1080p display resolution.

The processing capabilities of the handset come from an eight-core MediaTek MT6755 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage of the device is expandable for up to 200GB via microSD card.

One of the most notable features of Xperia XA Ultra is its battery technology.  Engadget reported the handset uses new juicing tech to prolong its battery lifespan. Sony also claims the device can last for up to two days on a single charge. Estimates show the device has 2,700 mAh battery. Also, it comes with a quick charger that can give 5.5 hours of battery life in just 10 minutes of charging. However, unlike other Sony Xperia phones, XA Ultra is not waterproof and lacks a USB-C charging port.

With the amazing camera technology of Xperia XA Ultra, several tech experts say Sony is trying to separate from other phone makers by playing to its strength - imaging. The bigger screen and clearer cameras of forthcoming Xperia handset will surely attract buyers who love taking photos but don't want to pay for a premium smartphone.

As for the release date of Xperia XA Ultra, Sony has not yet revealed any details. The Verge has predicted it will be available starting in July in select markets.
