Tom Rothman, head of Sony Picture Entertainment's Motion Pictures Group, announced on Tuesday that the much-anticipated 2017 Spider-Man reboot is titled Spider-Man: Homecoming. Teen actor Tom Holland is the new web-slinging hero, and Michael Keaton joins him as new villain.

Now, here's what is currently known about Spider-Man: Homecoming premiere date, cast and spoilers.

Variety reported that Keaton is set to play as one of the villains in the 2017 Spider-Man movie. Interestingly, this is not the first time that Keaton is casted in a superhero movie. The 64-year old actor played as Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's Batman in 1989.

Furthermore, Marisa Tomei is said to play Aunt May, and Zendaya is also on board for a mystery role.  As for the role of Keaton, details are still being kept under wraps but he'll definite play as one of the Spider-man's villains.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein write the forthcoming Spider-man, and Jon Watts is the director. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are the producers.

In the CinemaCon 2016, Sony's Motion Pictures Group director said Spider-Man: Homecoming has two meanings. It refers to Peter Parker's high school experience, and second, it refers to Sony that is going back to the comic-book movie business, as per report from USA Today.

Additionally, during Sony's panel, Holland shared an exclusive clip from the Spider-Man movie. In it, Peter Parker returns home from school when he found Tony Stark is sitting in the living room. After that, Tony says to Aunt May (Marissa Tomei) that Peter received a grant. "Now, we're in business," Tony tells to the teen superhero.

It has been known that Spider-Man is included in Iron-Man's team at the hotly anticipated Captain America: Civil War, which set to premiere on May 6, 2016. So, before Spider-man appears in his stand-alone movie, he will be in the next Avengers movie.

IGN reported that the Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017. Its productions is expected to start this summer.

In related news, it is rumored that Spider-Man could sport a new suit at the Captain America 3 movie. In the comics, Iron-Man built Iron Spider Armor for Peter Parker during the Civil War event. The specialized suit has grippers and fortified armor. Will it appear in the Iron-Man vs. Captain America movie? Let's wait and see.

Stay tuned for more updates.
