The Sri Lankan capital of Colombo will host a seminar for the Post-Tsunami Worldwide Care Ministry on January 26-30. The tsunami-affected church representatives consists of members from Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangledesh, and Malaysia. Each representative will report on the conditions and progress of ongoing reconstruction efforts.
Meanwhile, Asia Christian Association membership representatives hailing from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand will hold discussions concerning the current status of reconstruction planning and relief-work so that those involved with relief efforts will have a clearer focus in addressing disaster-situation.
In addition, the Taiwan Christian Presbyterian Church received an invitation from the Christian Conference of Asia to attend this seminar. The Church Ministry committee plans to send two delegates to the meeting. The committee expressed hopes that church involvement, Christian-care activities in Asia, and reconstruction funds will alleviate the those surviving the disaster.
The main committee will cooperate with active reconstruction ministries and long-term care ministries in building pre-fabricated buildings as well as providing spiritual relief for survivors left homeless and traumatized in tsunami-disaster zones.
