If you are into video games, then you probably have a Steam account. Those that are not familiar with the Internet-based system should know that it is another good way to bring excellent games onto your computer, without having to buy them at a games shop like a traditional console. Every year, the Valve-owned company holds a Holiday or Winter sale, and offers its users a chance to "save on thousands of titles across the entire catalog". This year, the sale lasts thirteen days and ends on January 2nd, 10 AM PST, and the offers change every 12 hours.
For example, Sunday was Day Four of the Holiday sale, and there were several discounts on popular games. According to the International Business Times, popular games like NBA 2K15 was 33 percent off at $40.19 and Rise of Nations Extended Edition was 75 percent off for $5.
Here are some offers of popular games that will be good until at least Wednesday morning.
Outlast for 75 percent off at $4.99.
Xtreme Legends Dynasty Warriors Complete Edition for 66 Percent off at $16.99.
The Escapists for 50 Percent off at $7.49.
The Walking Dead (Telltale Game) Season Two for 75 Percent off at $6.24.
Saints Row IV for 75 Percent off at $4.99.
Train Simulator 2015 for 85 Percent off at $8.24.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare for 80 Percent off at $4.99.
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) IV for 75 Percent off at $4.99.
Endless Legend at 50 Percent off at $17.49.
In addition to the discounts that change every 12 hours, there will also be an option of Community's Choice. This is where three titles will go on sale, with the Steam Community picking a bonus discount. There will be a new vote every 24 hours, and a vote gets users a Holiday Trading Card. Trading cards are virtual cards that are earned by buying and playing on Steam that can be crafted into badges that grant rewards. You can learn more information on the Trading card system on the Steam Site, and there are ten virtual elf cards that you can earn with this system.
Anyone interested in saving more on games during the holiday season is encouraged to go to the Steam news site and see what games will be on sale. Setting up an account and joining the Steam gaming community is very simple on PC, Mac, and Linux, and transactions can be done via credit or debit card.
