Street Fighter 5 Release Date for PC and PS4, Cast Of Characters

Laura
Laura, a new character for Street Fighter V Capcom

With the success of Mortal Kombat X, it is not surprising that another fighting/combat game of the early nineties is making a comeback as Street Fighter V will have its release date early next year.  Fans of the game franchise from Capcom are looking forward to playing this new version with some of their favorite returning characters, as well as some new ones.  This is what is known about Street Fighter V Release Date for the PC and PS4, as well as the cast of characters.

According to The Metro, there was a leak of the next Street Fighter V character with Laura.  Apparently, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono was not pleased, as he wanted to unveil Laura at a Brazilian game event next weekend.  This would have been appropriate as Laura is Brazilian, which is all that is really known about her other than her electric powers.  These electric powers are similar to Blanka, a well-known Street Fighter character who looks way different then Laura.  Even though Laura lacks Blanka's enhanced and mutated form, there are rumors that the two characters are related.

This means that of the characters that will appear in Street Fighter V, there is, at this writing, two characters out of the 16 playable characters that we do not know about.  The unknown fighters include one new character and one returning character.

The new characters include Necalli, Rashid, and now Laura.  There is no way to guess who this new character could be as it is a new creation.  Games Radar reports that Necalli is a character with huge dreadlocks that attack like tentacles.  IGN reports that Capcom has revealed a new Middle Eastern Fighter known as Rashid.  Rashid has the ability to throw a short range tornado that can extend vertically, and befitting him a moniker of "Rashid of the Turbulent Wind".

The returning characters include the newly announced Zangief, Birdie, Cammy, Chun-Li, Karin, Ken, M. Bison, Nash, Rainbow Mika, Ryu, and Vega.  Perhaps the last will be Blanka, unless Laura is his permanent replacement.

Street Fighter V will be using the Unreal gaming engine for some superior graphics quality.  There will also be a new system of fighting known as V-Style, which is apparently going to really revolutionize this fighting game.  Perhaps its success will be seen by its number of imitators.  Another change will be the online system, and PS4 and PC players will be able to play against each other.

There will be more unveiled about Street Fighter V this December.  According to Game Rant, it looks like Sony is "trading in the desert for the beach", as they company revealed  that the PlayStation Experience public gaming event will be back this year, but it will be in San Francisco and not Las Vegas.  Specifically, it will be at the Moscone Convention Center for the weekend of December 5-6.

The official release date of Street Fighter V will be sometime in March 2016, and the game will not have an initial release on the Xbox One due to the Sony exclusivity deal.
