Well, just recently a Texas student just encountered almost the same experience as the main character of the above mentioned movie.

A Texas middle school student was reportedly left "shocked" at her teacher's response regarding the statement "There is a God". In The Blaze report last Wednesday, October 28, Jordan Wooley, a student of West Memorial Junior High School, shared her unconventional interaction with her teacher in her reading class. She said that they were given an assignment asking them to classify if the claims are factual, opinions or a common place assertion. She further stated that when she passed her assignment to her reading teacher, she answered "fact or opinion" on the statement "There is a God", reported KHOU.com. The next thing that happened, however, left Wooley upset as her teacher allegedly told her that her answer is wrong and that she had to admit God wasn't real, Wooley stated in the KHOU interview.

"It was really confusing to me at first because I didn't really know what to do, so the first thing I did was tell my mom," Wooley said in the interview, stating that her answer is based on her religion and what she thinks and believes.

Wooley's mother, Chantel, is equally surprised to learn about this incident and could not believe it.

"That a kid was literally graded against her faith in god in a classroom so who would want to be known," Chantel said in the KHOU.com report.

The school has already released a statement regarding the matter, saying that the assignment is given with a goal to develop critical thinking for the students and not questions their beliefs and that the activity is "ungraded", reported The Blaze.

"Still this does not excuse the fact that this ungraded activity was ill-conceived and because of that, its intent had been misconstrued," Katy ISD said in the statement reported by KHOU.com.

According to report, the teacher has not commented on this matter as of this moment.
