Last week at Comic-Con, the fans got to see a trailer for Suicide Squad, a film that will not be released until next year. The film is based upon a lot of comic book source material from DC comics, and this trailer was not supposed to be released to the public. However, Warner Brothers has released this same footage to the public in order to get rid of those poor quality pirated ones. This is what is known about the Suicide Squad Release Date, Trailer, Cast, and Plot Spoilers.

Of course, the Suicide Squad trailer wasn't the only leaked trailer as there was also Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. These two trailers can be described with two words: dark and darker. The Batman v. Superman film takes two big characters from the DC Universe and pitting them against each other, for reasons that seem understandable. Suicide Squad feels more like an R-rated gritty film, according to iO9.

The trailer to the film shows Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, who is telling a bunch of authorities that she is assembling a Task Force X, a group of supervillains that will perform black ops missions for them. Should the villains get caught, the government can disavow them like the Senator on Mission: Impossible.

The group of villains include some big stars including Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, the leader of the team. According to imdb.com, Scott Eastwood and Common appear on the credits as well, but their character names are not mentioned.

The trailer has a lot of Will Smith, arguably the biggest star in the film. Something that is also visible on the trailer are shots of Batman, and Ben Affleck's name does appear on the cast list. Those shots of Batman don't last long, and there appear to be some people in very fake-looking Batman costumes.

Something that fans wanted to see was Jared Leto as the Joker. There were a lot of still shots that appeared on the Internet with Leto in his makeup, and they received a lot of criticism. It is clear that whatever actor that was chosen to play the Joker would be under a lot of scrutiny after Heath Ledger's posthumous performance from The Dark Knight. The trailer waits until the very end to see Leto say: "I'm not gonna kill ya, I'm just gonna hurt ya, really, really bad".

It should be known that in the Batman v. Superman showed a quick shot of what looked like Robin's costume with graffiti on it. Many have speculated that this version of Batman might have had his version of Robin killed, as this was a major story in the comic when the Joker killed Jason Todd. Is it possible that the person that Joker could be talking to is the Jason Todd Robin? This would explain Batman's appearance in the Suicide Squad film.

Whatever the case, it would appear that DC Comics movies are really taking a dark turn, and the way Batman v. Superman connects to Suicide Squad is a way that could make DC's cinematic universe a lot more adult-oriented than the Marvel one. Suicide Squad won't appear until theaters until August 5, 2016.
