Misha Collins is sharing some major information about the filming of “Supernatural” season 12. According to Collins, who takes on the role of Angel Castiel on the longtime-running series, his fellow cast members Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have already finished filming and it was Collins himself who was left to wrap up on the last day of shooting.
Ackles and Padalecki continued to rise to fame after playing Dean and Sam Winchester on The CW series. Upon taking a selfie that shows him being decked out in Castiel's iconic trenchcoat, Collins wrote the following statement on Instagram: "How was the ep, east coat? I'm last man standing. @jarpad, @Mark_Sheppard, & @JensenAckles all wrapped. Last day, #Supernatural season 12!"
On the previous episode of “Supernatural” season 12 titled “The Future” aired on April 27, Thursday, Castiel came back from Heaven
Castiel returned from Heaven in this Thursday's (27 April) episode of Supernatural season 12 titled, The Future, where he teamed up with Kelly and made the bold choice of letting Lucifer's baby be born, believing that it would bring good on Earth. However, in doing so, he nearly betrays Sam and Dean Winchester, as he zapped them and leaves with Kelly. So, will the Free Will team get back together? Can Lucifer's baby really bring good?
Previously, speaking about Castiel's return, executive producer Andrew Dabb told TV Line, "When Cas comes back [in this Thursday's episode], we're going to get a lot of clarity in terms of not only why he's been in Heaven for so long, but his own point of view on why he went."
As Dabb further explained, looking at Cas’ perspective will suggest that he has been there for Sam and Dean since the start. “The question is: Where does he go from there? Once he comes back in, he's going after Kelly,” he added.
The executive producer further opened up about Castiel’s motives, including his time in Heaven when he was gathering information, but not necessarily changing his way of thinking in such a way that he will go against the Winchester brothers. Dabb described it having “moments of clarity” as to why he is on such journey and the price that he is ready to pay in order to keep Sam and Dean safe, secure, and alive.
Meanwhile, “Supernatural” season 12, episode 20 was recently aired, titled “Twigs & Twine & Tasha banes.” According to TV Guide, the episode revolved around Alicia Banes asking for help from Mary after her mother went missing. After answering Mary’s phone, Sam sought the help of Dean to aid Alicia and her twin brother in finding their mother who had ventured out to hunt a powerful witch.
In the latest “Supernatural” season 12 episode, Mary also carries out her own investigation after her doubts about the British Men of Letters begin to surface. After spending time inside the men’s bunker, she listened in on Mr. Ketch’s conversations over the phone, confirming her suspicions. However, there was an apprehensive encounter between Mary and Mr. Ketch, leading to a physical brawl with the Winchester siblings’ mother getting tied up to a chair while the latter looks through what seemed to be tools used for torture.
“Supernatural” season 12 is set to air both of its episodes 22 and 23 in a back-to-back showing on May 18 on The CW to conclude the season. “Riverdale” will not take up the slot given that the debut season of the hit series will finish off the week before.
