“Supernatural” fans across the country were devastated after the “Supernatural” season 12 finale featured the deaths of two of its main characters. After a week, actor Mark Sheppard has confirmed his goodbyes to his character, Crowley.

As “Supernatural” season 12 came to its end, viewers watched as both Crowley and Castiel met their unfortunate end. Crowley as featured to have a more intense and emotional death, sacrificing himself for Sam and Dean Winchester. Fans of the hit series are aware that, with the show, any character can resurrect themselves from the dead. Even the Winchester brothers themselves have gone and come back to the land of the living multiple times.

However, with Castiel and Crowley, it is unlikely that the two longtime characters will make a comeback. Sheppard already confirmed that he has said his final goodbye to the show. The actor made an appearance in 72 episodes of “Supernatural.” He also shared a farewell message to the show on his Instagram account, posting a photo of himself as he blew a kiss to his fans while wearing a Crowley-themed shirt. The message across his chest can bring tears to “Supernatural” fans anytime as it reads: “Even When I Lose, I Win.”

After giving thanks to the show’s fans and their continued support, Sheppard also mentioned his co-stars and crew members. “Time for something new,” he added, explaining his departure from The CW series. As such, the “Supernatural” season 13 premiere will no longer feature Castiel and Crowley- two characters that spent the longest time on the show, aside from Sam and Dean. Crowley was first introduced in the fifth season and became a recurring character for years. In “Supernatural” season 10, Sheppard was then promoted to a series regular together with co-stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins.

In the series finale titled “All Along the Watchtower,” fans may have been overwhelmed with the deaths of Crowley and Castiel. The first of the two characters to meet his death was Crowley, the King of Hell. He sacrificed himself to trap Lucifer in Apocalypse World- an alternative universe. While Crowley’s death had worked, it also trapped Mary Winchester on the dystopian parallel Earth. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/supernatural/mark-sheppard-wont-return-as-a-64844.aspx

While Crowley will not be coming back to the show, there remains hope for Castiel. As noted by Digital Spy, Jared Padalecki may have dropped a hint that Misha Collins could return for the new installment. In an interview about a Scooby-Doo animated crossover, the actor shared, "We actually already recorded it… [It's] episode 16 of next season, and we already had to do the script and go to a music studio. And we did all the dialogue, Jensen and Misha and I."

"I think we will see Cas again, but the question is, what [does this death do] to him? That is, I think the one to wonder about,” Collins teased.

The ‘Supernatural’ season 13 premiere date has been set for this fall. The hit CW series was renewed for its latest installment last January.
