If you saw The Lego Movie, then you probably remember the intriguing characters, and one of them was the iconic Batman.  The Caped Crusader was portrayed by Flaked actor Will Arnett, and in all honesty, his performance of Lego Batman is possibly better than actual Batman.  It just stands to reason that The Lego Movie would get a sequel, and now it will have a spinoff with The Lego Batman Movie.

There is a trailer for it that you can see below, and it is essentially a teaser trailer.  It makes no point in hiding that it is from Warner Brothers, who has done all the other Batman films.  In fact, this looks like this trailer is set to appear before the new film where Batman takes on Superman.  I mean, it really has Batman all over it, and part of the parody is that Batman is on pretty much everything.

Yes, this is very different from the Batman in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of JusticeUSA Today has shown some photos from the Lego Batcave that are shown in the preview.  Will Arnett has said that "The Batcave is even better than we remembered it, it's awesome."

While Lego Batman has mentioned in a song that he has written that his life is "darkness and no parents" during The Lego Movie, he spends a lot of his time trying to be as awesome as he can in The Lego Batman Movie.  Apparently, the Batcave has a lot of space as it is a shrine devoted to the awesomeness of Batman, even a kitchen for a food network show.  There isn't much on the trailer but Batman microwaving a leftover lobster dinner, but audiences will want to see this because...Batman.

Director Chris McKay, the animation director for The Lego Movie, has said that "we thought if we can tell a well-rounded, funny story that's action-packed, we can build a big movie around this character."

So what will The Lego Batman Movie be about?  Well, Lego Batman is comfortable being awesome in his huge cave of his own bat suits and everything else, hanging only with his butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes).  Then he is introduced to Dick Grayson, who later becomes Robin (Michael Cera), not to mention Barbara Gordon as Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), according to CNET

Considering that Batman has had three video games, it seems reasonable that a Lego Batman Movie video game is probably in production as well.  The movie trailer has a brief shot of other heroes in the DC Universe, but the imdb page doesn't have who is voicing them.  It looks like the Joker will be appearing in the film, to be voiced by Zach Galifianakis.

The Lego Batman Movie will be in theaters on February 10, 2017, which is about three years after the original The Lego Movie premiered.  As for The Lego Movie Sequel, which is the film's official title, it will be out on May 18, 2018.
