The release date of The Voice Season 9 is only a few days away but the rumor mill is working double-time that two of its coaches, specifically Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are dating and falling for each other.

The rumored brewing romance between Stefani, 45, and Shelton, 39 are hitting up following confirmation that the two stars have recently divorced or is currently in the process of divorce. Last month, Stefani broke the news that she has filed for divorce on August 3 from Gavin Rossdale after 13 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has three children, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, who is just a little more than one year old.

E! News reported on July 20 that Shelton and Miranda Lambert are ending their four year marriage. The report said the hectic schedules of Miranada and the country singer were the cause of the separation.

Now, reports from the set have disclosed an extra closeness between Shelton and Stefani. Life & Style cited a source claiming good chemistry between the two artists are hinting of romance and despite their efforts to keep the brewing closeness on the down-low, people around them could not help but notice their "flirtatious" behavior. The source described that "they're all over each other," while on the set.

However, fans of the show have been used to Shelton flirting with his jokes. Indeed Shelton even joked about Rihanna whom he described as "crazy about him." Rihanna is tapped as one of the advisors for the coaches in The Voice season 9.

Shelton told Access Hollywood, "She's crazy about me. We'll probably end up hooking up at some point. I'm just saying," referring to Rihanna.

"I see a collaboration - maybe not musically. You know what I'm saying?" the country singer said with a laugh.

However, Gossip Cop denied rumors that Shelton and Stefani are dating and claimed that any romance between the co-stars is "completely untrue." Shelton even tweeted that he sometimes checks the Internet to check who he's currently dating.  The country superstar tweeted, "Damn my dating life is awesome!! Let me know what happens."

Shelton Praises Rihanna

Meanwhile, Shelton has nothing but good words and praises for Rihanna, noting that she finds the R&B singer funny and honest but also someone who takes her job seriously. Shelton said he appreciates the work ethics of Rihanna, reported Master Herald.

The Voice season 9 also features Brad Paisley for Team Blake, Selena Gomez for Team Gwen, Missy Elliot for Team Pharrell and John Fogerty for Team Adam as guest advisers.

Season 9 of "The Voice" will premiere on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
