Tony Romo Bows Down to Dak Prescott as New Starting QB For Dallas Cowboys

After weeks of speculation, Tony Romo has finally clarified the real quarterback situation of the Dallas Cowboys. During a recent press conference, Romo admitted that Dak Prescott is the more suitable QB for the team.

Romo has been absent all season long after injuring his back in August during a preseason game. Since then, Prescott has been taking on the starting role duties for the Cowboys. Under his leadership, the Cowboys became the strongest team in the league this season.

But, a couple of weeks ago, speculations about Romo's return started to surface after he was spotted participating in the team's practice session. This then led to talks about him returning to the starting spot for the Cowboys.

However, given the way Prescott and the rest of the team have been performing, Romo's role as a starter became questionable.

Earlier today, Romo finally ended the rumors surrounding the Cowboys locker room by acknowledging Prescott as the new starting quarterback of the Cowboys.

"He's earned the right to be our quarterback," he said about Prescott. "As hard as that is for me to say he's earned that right. He's guided our team to an 8-1 record and that's hard to do."

Despite recognizing Prescott as the new main passer of the team, Romo noted that this will not stop him from working hard to become the Cowboys' starting QB again.

"If you think for a second that I don't want to be out there, then you've probably never felt the ecstacy of competing and winning," he said. "That hasn't left me. In fact, it may burn more now than ever. It's not always easy to watch and I think anyone who has been in this position understands that."

"One thing that's clear: I was that kid one," he added. "Stepping in and having to prove yourself. I remember the feeling like it was yesterday. It really is an incredible time in your life."

Based on Romo's statements, he will most likely serve as Prescott's backup while Mark Sanchez will remain as the team's third-stringer. Depending on how the season goes, this hierarchy could extend to next year.
