The fifth installment to the blockbuster success Transformers franchise is definitely in the works. Already toy company Hasbro said that the Writer's Pool created to create story ideas for the franchise has come out with four more sequels, Transformers 4, 6, 7, and 8 in a span of ten years to keep fans at the edge of their seats.

However, at this time, it is still uncertain if Michael Bay will be directing Transformers 5, although Mark Wahlberg has confirmed he would reprise his role as Cade Yeager.

The Writer's Pool, led by screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) together with Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Christina Hodson (Black List), Steven DeKnight (Daredevil) and Lindsey Beer, have submitted story ideas enough for four more movies.

Goldsman was quoted by Den of Geek as saying, "Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, Transformers 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8."

The report added that Hasbro and Paramount were satisfied with their collaboration that Hasbro president Stephen Davis was inspired with the success of the first four installments of Transformers both companies is entertaining to create more movies about the robot-transforming heroes.

Meanwhile, as the Transformers movies are still on the drawing board, Hasbro has created a unified universe called Prime Wars Trilogy for Transformers across another medium.

In a report, Hollywood Reporter, the Prime Wars Trilogy is envisioned to create a framework for the Transformers' story across multiple platforms, including comic books, video games, and the Transformers storyline. However, Hasbro was silent if the Prime Wars Trilogy will be incorporated in the planned four movie sequels of the franchise.

"We decided to initiate the creation of a bigger deeper worlds," said David Erwin who heads Hasbro's Transformers story team. "The fan reaction was really good. And that's when we decided we wanted to make this a trilogy and really make this immersive. And when we say immersive, that means to create that experience across all different platforms, to take it across everything that we do."

As it is, the new Transformers 5 is seen to be creating its own unified universe as the movie will be set both on Earth and outer space with Cade Yeager leading the fight with the Dinobots here while Optimus Prime fights the Quintessons and Unicron in outer space. Transformers 5 is said to tell the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron.

As with the reunion between Wahlberg and Bay, that remains to be seen as the famed director recently posted a tweet on his personal Twitter account saying that he is still in discussion with Steven Spielberg about the possibility of his return in the director's seat.

The fifth film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2017 and is the latest addition to the Transformers cinematic universe.
