Since "The Live Original Tour," "Dancing With the Stars" alum and Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson confirmed she has been dating Trevor Knight, some people are curious about other details of the 22-year-old starting quarter back for the Texas A&M Aggies. The couple reportedly bonded over shared Christian faith, then found they had much in common.
"He had messaged me because he goes to Haiti every year on a mission trip, and he saw that I go to Haiti," Robertson said. "We just kinda connected through that, very much friends at first."
Trevor Knight and Sadie Robertson first made a connection due to both of them participating in mission trips to Haiti.
The couple discovered the way they handle the pressure of being in the public spotlight is similar. "Trevor has to deal with his own kinda fame -- that was weird for me," the "Live Original" author said. "We're both kinda in the spotlight ... but he does such a good job with it. He is a very strong Christian and he tells everybody about his faith, so we had a lot in common in that area."
Knight initially started his college football career at the University of Oklahoma in 2014, but during this January he announced he would be transferring to the Texas A&M University.
Off the football field, Knight began dedicating his time to finding a cure for cancer after his dad was diagnosed in the fall of 2011, reports Hollywood Life. "It hit me really hard. Nothing like that had ever happened in my family before so when it does, it just takes you by surprise," he said about finding out the sad news.
While he was player for Oklahoma, Knight and his teammates visited a local children's hospital, where he met McKenzie Horton who was battling cancer at the time. Sadly, McKenzie passed away that year, but Knight started a GoFundMe to help her parents pay for her medical bills.
One fun fact is that pop singer Katy Perry, 31, has been called obsessed with Knight. When the "Teenage Dream" singer appeared on College GameDay in February 2015, she professed her love for Trevor, raving about his charming looks. "Trevor Knight, do you hear me," Perry asked. "The quarterback for Oklahoma, we don't mind. So I'm going to go with him. Trevor Knight, call me!"
Another interesting fact is that Knight has a twin brother, Connor, who also plays college football for Trevor's former team at the University of Oklahoma. Trevor is one minute older than Connor, according to newsok.com.
Trevor previously dated Clemson cheerleader Rachel Wyatt.
Robertson's recently had broken up with her boyfriend of two years in March before she and Knight were seen attending a Justin Bieber concert together.
