Coming early October.  Naughty Dog

Fans of the Uncharted game series are going to be pleased to hear that the first three games, as well as multiplayer beta access to the fourth game, will be given with the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. This is what we know about the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection release date and features.

According to IGN, Sony has recently announced Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. This is a bundle that combines the hit games of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception in one collection for the PS4. The purpose is to prepare players for the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Each of these games will be remastered, and there will be new achievements with better lighting, textures, and models as well as 1080p graphics at 60 fps. Only single player campaigns of these games will be available, but Sony has stated that anyone who purchases The Nathan Drake Collection will have access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta later this year. Also, those that pre-order the game will get a Nathan Drake Pack that includes single-player skins, the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns.

For those completely unfamiliar with the Uncharted video game franchise, they are third-person shooter platform action-adventure games made exclusively for the PlayStation. Here is the storyline for the newest game: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End takes place three years after Uncharted 3, and suddenly Sam, Nathan Drake's older brother who was thought to be dead, comes in. Sam has his life hanging by a thread, and is looking to find some legendary pirate artifact. This leads Drake and Sam to some mythical pirate colony in Madagascar known as Libertaria, and in conflict with two rivals named Rafe and Nadine who also want the artifact.

According to KPopStarz, it would appear that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is going to be delayed, and set to arrive in 2016. The director of the game, Bruce Straley, has explained the reason for the delay, saying: "Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End not only meets the team's high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title".

'm sure a lot of fans of Uncharted are sad to see the delay, and I have to bear sadder news. In case you have not heard, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will live up to its subtitle as it will be a thief's end. This game will be the last in the series, with no intended sequel.

This does explain the delay, as Naughty Dog really wants to give the Uncharted series a decent send-off. And one hopes that Naughty Dog will give fans something that they will really want. There is also another development in the Uncharted franchise that is worth noting in 2016, as there are plans for a movie to be made.

According to Imdb, there are plans for an Uncharted movie to be released in 2016, and about all that is known is this plot summary: "A descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray."

So if you are not familiar with Nathan Drake, pick up the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on October 7 in Europe and on October 9 in North America. As for the final chapter with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, look for it in 2016.
