Part One of The Voice Season 7 Live Playoffs kicked off with the coaches doing a fascinating performance. International Business Times reports that after a short welcome by host Carson Daly, Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5 performed their latest controversial single "Animals" before the stage went to contestants from Team Adam and Team Blake.

Part Two started off with a performance from coach Pharrell, who sang his latest single "Hunter." Contestants from both Team Pharrell and Team Gwen then took to the stage to perform their respective songs.

One highlight from this week's airings of The Voice included a performance of Elyjuh Rene, whose rendition of "Latch" compelled all four judges to give a standing ovation, according to People Magazine.

"I can't believe what I just saw," Levine said to Elyjuh. "Precisely perfect, soulful ... Pharrell has one of the strongest teams, and you just became the front-runner on one of the strongest teams."

Another highlight came when Bryana Salaz of Team Gwen cried a little after her rendition of "Amnesia." People Magazine reported that the song reminded her of the challenges faced by military families along with the importance of Veterans Day.

"I feel like we actually saw her get better in the performance," Shelton said. "With each second that went by you had more strength. That's what we like to see on The Voice, a change and growth in people, and that's happening for you."

After tonight's results show, the next episode of The Voice Season 7 will air on NBC Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. ET, and previous episodes can be seen on NBC's website.
