The Walking Dead Season 6 Release Date, Characters, Spoilers: Is a Walking Dead Movie on the Way?

The Walking Dead
Season 6 begins in October 2015.

The Walking Dead TV Series left on a somber not for Season 5, and Season 6 will not have a Premiere Date until late fall. There have been many spoilers going about as far as new characters and plot elements for Season 6 of The Walking Dead, and there has also been big rumors of a movie.

The International Business Times reports that Season 6 will introduce some new characters named Delvin and Tucker. This is a departure from Robert Kirkman's graphic novels, as no one by those names appears in them. Considering Daryl Dixon, a character created for the television show, has since become a fan favorite, perhaps these characters can also become just as popular. From what we know, Delvin is a cynic of the group, while Tucker is a "hard worker tough guy who values fairness". It is possible that these names are fake, as the producers of the television show have been known to use fake character names while casting major roles based on the comics.

As far as what else to watch out for in Season 6 of The Walking Dead, you should look no further than the aftermath of what happened in the Alexandria Safe Zone. As you may recall, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) shot crazed husband Pete (Corey Brill) in the head, and then Morgan (Lennie James) made his expected return.

The Latino Post says that Morgan's return as well as the arrival of the Wolves, a sadistic group of survivors who could be the main antagonists for the next season, are the scenarios fans should watch out for. There is also a possibility of a romance between Rick and Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge), even though Rick just murdered the father of her children.

Oh, and another thing could be more zombies. The show has lately focused on humans as the main villains, but Season 6 might remind us why Rick and his gang are together in the first place. Considering that in the graphic novels, the Alexandria safe zone was invaded by a zombie horde, then it would be no surprising if history repeated itself.

There is another surprise that could be happening sometime in Season 6 or afterward, but it isn't related to the television show at all, because there are talks of turning The Walking Dead into a movie. That Latin Post states that the show's comic creator and executive producer just signed a "first-look deal" with Universal that could bring The Walking Dead to a theater near you.

Andrew Lincoln, the actor playing Rick, likes the idea of it and says it would "be cool to see some snow". The movie could also play with chronology in a way that the show cannot, and possibly tie into the Fear the Walking Dead show that will begin soon.

Season 6 of The Walking Dead will begin in October back on AMC. If you can't wait that long to see the undead walk again, then Fear the Walking Dead will be out in the summertime.
