Germany and England will meet on the 4^th of July, Saturday, at the Commonwealth Stadium in Canada for third place in the FIFA Women's World Cup. The match is scheduled for play at 4 p.m. Eastern time. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Germany vs England below.

FIFA's top ranked Germany is favored to win against the No.6 England on Saturday's game by a goal. England suffered a heartbreaking loss against the Japan side in the semifinal on an own goal in extra time, said Heavy.com. Germany also suffered a defeat against No. 2 America in the semifinal.

Germany was the runner-up in 1995. England had never before made the World Cup semifinals.

Karen Carney is confident the Lionesses will prevail against the German side during their battle for the third place, reported Live Soccer TV.  She commented on Bassett, "She's awesome and I hope the country gets behind her and gives her the support and the love she deserves because the girl who had a black eye in the first game against France has bruises all over her body. She puts her body on the line time after time for her country and her club,"

She went on to say, "She will bounce back, she is strong as an ox and we will support her and get her back to help us get that third place we deserve."

The 26-year-old Carney also expressed disappointment over her team's failure to reach the finals after having come too close to win the championship.  "There's nothing you can say when everyone has not just put in 18 months hard work, it's been since we were 11 years old. To be in a semi-final, to be so close and be the better team, it is heart-wrenching."

British coach Mark Sampson also said Basset could comeback after the sorry loss to Japan. He said, "I'm not having that. Our media will be behind Laura Bassett, when she comes home she will be seen as a hero. Anyone who knows her is privileged to have her in their life. She's a role model for every player in our team, I've never seen someone train as hard, and commit to a cause. You can talk about any value you want to associate with a good person, she has it in abundance. If she was your sister or friend, you would be very lucky to have her in your life."

On Thursday, British side 29-year-old striker Jodie Taylor has urged England to push on with their game against Germany on Saturday to win third place in the Fifa Women's World Cup.

Taylor took to Twitter on Thursday to express her disappointment, but also vowed to keep on the fight against the German team for third place, said Liverpool Echo.

Taylor wrote on Twitter: "Gutted we lost today, but so unbelievably proud of this group and what we have achieved. Now we go for 3rd place. #Proud #Lionesess #ENG."
