World Alliance of Reformed Churches Visits TSPM/CCC in Shanghai

On Nov. 3, World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) chairman Rev. Clifton Kirkpatrick and secretary general Setri Nyomi visited the TSPM/CCC, according to China Protestant Church’s website.

Directors of WARC met with the recently elected leaders of TSPM/CCC, who include the chairperson Elder Fu Xianwei, China Christian Council president Rev. Gao Feng, general secretary Rev. Xu Xiao Hong and vice president Rev. Pao Jia Yuan, to conduct a dialogue about the development of Christianity in China and the work progress of the government sanctioned church.

Kirkpatrick reminisced of the first time that he visited China in 1981 and compared the situation then with the development of China in recent years.

“In 1981, I visited China for the first time. In the last twenty years, I saw China’s progress and the Chinese churches’ progress. I hope that our visit this time can enhance and increase mutual dialogues and partnerships,” said WARC chairman.

Nyomi also shared his excitement in being about to once again visit TSPM/CCC. He said that he can feel the vitality of China’s churches and also congratulated the new generation of leaders of TSPM/CCC, hoping that they can do their best in guiding the China’s Church.

Towards the end, WARC staffs and TSPM/CCC leaders exchanged gifts and took pictures for memory sake.
