In late January, WWE 2k16 players who downloaded the Future Stars DLC pack had some problems while playing the "Universe" mode. But now, game developers addressed the problem in a new game patch. Earlier this week, 2K Sports rolled out the latest game fixes for PS4 and PS3. For Xbox users, the patch update is expected to arrive a little bit later.
The Future Stars Pack DLC was supposed to add new wrestlers to the game as playable characters, but it triggered some problems in the Universe mode. The expansion pack had corrupted files and stalled player's progress in the game mode. The bug caused disappointments to many avid gamers who now have to start the game all over again.
For the part of the game developers, the three months that they have spent to build the game's storylines and customizations were rendered obsolete in an instant. The pack contains Somoa Joe and two tag teams: Blake & Murphy, and Los Matadores.
In a statement published in Games Radar, officials of 2K Sports said they found the issue only affected PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users don't have to worry because they will not experience the problems.
According to the website 2K Forums, it is now safe to download the Future Stars DLC if players already downloaded and installed Patch 1.05. The developer assured that "Universe Mode saves will function normally," when players installed the patch.
Aside from fixes in Universe mode, the latest patch adds new contents in the game, such as signature/finisher combos for The Rock and Ultimate Warrior. In terms of visual presentation, the patch addressed an issue with necklace accessories while entering with a Championship. Triple H's water bottle graphic problems during steel cage match is also fixed.
In Menu, the patch fixed an issue that stalled gamers in playing tag team tournaments with a COM partner or two player-controlled Superstars that each had multiple attires.
Furthermore, in-game audio problems are also solved. The ring announcement now properly plays when announcing a Custom Tag Team Title match featuring a custom character. The audio issues with R-Truth's "What's Up?" chant during his victory celebration is now fixed.
In order to prevent future problems, 2K Sports also included support for the upcoming 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase DLC, which features new characters, such as Arn Anderson and Scott Hall.
With that information, let's hope that the patch 1.05 will further enhance the gaming experience of WWE 2k16 players.
