‘WWE 2K17’ Release Date, Roster, Gameplay and Cover; Will Chyna Be Added Into The Game?

WWE 2K17
Who will be on the WWE 2K17 cover? WWE 2K17 News

One thing in the sports e-gaming world is if you have a great game, then you put out a new one every year.  Right now, the season for WWE 2K16 will pass in a few months with all the DLC released for it (with more to come), but all the real action of the WWE has made fans long for the release of 2K Games' WWE 2K17.  There really has not been much news about WWE 2K17 since we reported on it last week, other than the fact that there will be one.  However, it is possible to know the release date, as well as roster, gameplay, and cover.

There are certainly a lot of predictions on the Full Roster, which can be seen here.  There is a possibility that the recently departed Chyna could be included on the roster, which could be done in a tribute to the retired female wrestler.  She could be part of the original roster (which might consist of about 119 characters) or could be added via DLC.  Most believe that the Undertaker should be on the cover, as his career has just about ended.  I don't know if I'm the first to suggest this, but perhaps Chyna with her legacy should make the cover, as I'm not certain if a woman has ever made the cover of this game series before.

Vine Report states that scans of wrestlers Bray Wyatt, Brie Bella, and Alundra Blayze have been completed by 2K Sports.  As far as the gameplay is concerned, there is a report on What Culture talking about 10 Reasons why WWE 2K17 needs a WCW Mode.  Part of the fun of WWE games is following a wrestler throughout their career, and the WCW was once a part of that.

As for the actual release date, many are gearing for October 26, 2016 to be the day, but this has not been confirmed.  There is a YouTube video that shows that 2K has been releasing WWE games in October of each year, with the release date decreasing by one day each year.

This is one of those numeric coincidences, but this theory checks out as it certainly does follow a pattern as WWE 13 had its release date on October 30, 2012, WWE 2K14 had its release date on October 29, 2013, WWE 2K15 had its release date on October 28, 2014, and WWE 2K16 on October 27, 2015.

That is all well and good, but October 26, 2016 is a Wednesday and all of the other dates for the previous WWE video games were on a Tuesday.  Therefore, since the last Tuesday in October is the 25th, fans of the game will be seeing it then.  Again, this has not been announced formally, but the traditional release date cannot be denied.

At this present time, it looks like 2K Games is probably still hard at work on WWE 2K17, and there are a lot of fan sites devoted to it.  Since nothing has been set yet, feel free to leave a comment saying what you want to see in a WWE 2K17 game.
