Xbox Live Games with Gold has four free games each month, two for Xbox One and two for Xbox 360. The Reverse Compatibility will certainly bring more options for Xbox One gamers, and some of the games for November 2015 have already expired. There might be a way to figure out how to predict what free games could be released for December 2015, and it could be cult favorite Mirror's Edge.
According to Finder.com, there are ways to make some bets with better odds as far as what free games will be coming for Games with Gold. Those that try to predict what games are coming should see what games will be popular. As an example, we know that Rise of the Tomb Raider was just released on November 10, but in September 2015, the original Tomb Raider was included in free games. It just makes sense why Xbox Live Games with Gold would give its subscribers that particular game to create hype for the sequel.
Using this type of logic, one of the predictions for free Games with Gold game for December 2015 would be Mirror's Edge. If you are not familiar with this game, it was released back in 2007 and achieved quite a cult following. The player is Faith, a courier in a futuristic society that has to personally deliver messages by running on rooftops, across walls, and a whole lot of other parkour stuntwork. Considering that there is a prequel to this game called Mirror's Edge Catalyst coming in 2016, it would be wise for EA to make the original game easy for new players to try out.
For the Xbox One, Pneuma: Breath of Life will be available for free from November 1st to the 30th. Pneuma: Breath of Life has a surreal look to it that is reminiscent of games like Myst, and the Steam Store describes that the game "forces you to think outside the box through a narrated story of self-discovery, whilst exploring the ontological mystery of the breath of life."
Another game that is for the Xbox One is Knight Squad. The website for this game describes Knight Squad as an 8 players top-down Bomberman meets Gauntlet game, with crazy sword fights where one hit is enough to take anyone down. The Knight Squad website also says that it is coming on Xbox One in 2015, and now that it is a free game, then it would have the audience required to make an interesting game like this become a huge hit, possibly overnight. Knight Squad will be for free from November 16th to December 15th.
The first game for the Xbox 360 has already expired, but the second game on the Xbox 360, Dungeon Siege III, is available from November 16-30. This game, first released in 2011 by Obsidian Entertainment and Square Enix, is an action role-playing game (RPG) about four characters with different backstories who must journey in an open world and fulfill quests for the control of Ehb.
As it gets closer to the end of the month, word will soon come out on what games will actually be available for free on the Xbox Live Games with Gold program. Until then, one can only speculate.
